We were camping at Whakanewha Regional Park when one day we went for a walk to the Cascades, the local waterfall.When we got there we decided to walk down the waterfall and walk down the river.
We were determined to make it the whole way. We slid down a clay bank and jumped to the other side of the river. We had to figure out how to get down 6 more waterfalls.
There were 7 of us, 2 adults and 5 children. We ended up in a swamp and we had to walk through some mud. My Mum and my brother tripped over in the mud. It was funny.
We walked and walked through the bush and after 4 hours walking ended up far away. We were very tired. We asked a car for a ride back to the campground. They said yes. We were very happy.
