  • Step 1. Pull the shock cord out from one end of the pole using a pair of tweezers or pliers.
    Step 2. Cut the knot from the pull cord. The shock cord will then shoot down the pole.
    Step 3. Remove the broken section of the pole and take the required sections from the Kiwi Camping replacement pole kit; you can see our range here.
    Step 4. Cut the replacement pole to size using a hacksaw.
    Step 5. Line up all sections of the pole, so it's ready to be threaded.
    Step 6. Tie a nylon fishing line or something with a similar diameter to the shock cord. Make sure it's longer than the pole section before feeding the line down the pole section until it comes through at the other end.
    Step 7. Pull through the shock cord and continue feeding the line on each section to assemble the pole.
    Step 8. Hold the shock cord tightly while cutting off the nylon line.
    Step 9. Tie a double knot; this will stop the shock cord from shooting back down the pole.
    Step 10. It's fixed!
