After our queen airbed with frame finally died we brought this stretcher. I would not recommend using this with a air mattress as the bar through the middle makes it sit funny, how ever if u have to room I highly recommend using foam squabs off a 3 seater couch as your matteress. they perfectly fit down one side or go buy a foam matteress to place on top. We camped for 20 days using a $200 foam matteress with this stretcher and it was almost as comfortable as my bed at home. The biggest dsown side is the foot desgin placement of these stretchers is to sharp and easily damages the floor of your tent, twice we had to put our tent in for floor repairs after a camping trip. I have now resolved this issue by putting carpet squares under each foot of the stretcher.
