Fantastic brightness and durability Craig Steele
I don't normally write reviews unless something really really impress me. This lantern without a doubt did.
We bought 2 of these lanterns for our first family camping trip in 3 years just last week. We have a Savannah 4 deluxe shelter and a kiwi camping stratus canvas tent and we had been researching a range of lighting options including a few lanterns of similar price and specs but the brightness on this one blew the rest out of the ball park and was cheaper too. It has a mix of rubber and plastic construction and doesn't have a cheap feel to it and did not require any extra batteries because of its built in one. Its extremely bright 800lm with different brightness levels, It lights up the rooms in our tent literally like day light and one lantern lit the Savannah shelter very well(2 was event better!). Being able to hang it upside down as well as putting it on the table was handy too. We just plugged the lanterns into our solar panel to charge during the day. Since its summer we didn't have them on for longer than 1.5-2 hours per night so the battery life was sufficient, although I think it would last a few nights if it was just used on low. We plan to buy another 2 and Id definitely recommend this to families who are both starting out or are seasoned campers.
